Prolanis Integration at Kutowinangun Public Health Center Teams Up with Remote Eye Care Service from Purbowangi General Hospital
A significant collaboration between the Proactive Health Promotion for Chronic Diseases (Prolanis) initiated at Kutowinangun Public Health Center and the Remote Eye Care Service from Purbowangi General Hospital took place on Friday, August 4th, within the premises of Kutowinangun Public Health Center's auditorium.
The primary objective of this event was the early detection and prevention of complications arising from chronic diseases, specifically hypertension and diabetes mellitus, including diabetic retinopathy. The event also incorporated a valuable element of knowledge-sharing through a refreshing diagnostic session for the health practitioners at Kutowinangun Public Health Center, conducted by dr. Karisma, Sp.M from Purbowangi General Hospital. dr. Karisma, a leading figure in the field, also holds the position of Director at the prominent Kebumen Eyes Center.
Present at the occasion were dr. Budi Satrio, M.Kes, the Director of Purbowangi General Hospital, dr. Karisma, Sp.M, along with a team from the Kebumen Eyes Center (KEC), and dr. Pratama Adi Prabawa, M.Sc. Additionally, Kutowinangun Public Health Center was represented by dr. Westri Prima Sari and dr. Putri Renita Pratiwi.
In a statement, the Head of Kutowinangun Public Health Center expressed gratitude and appreciation for the fruitful collaboration between the Chronic Disease Control Division and the Primary Health Care Division. This synergy, she noted, benefits numerous stakeholders. By enhancing the skills of our doctors, we can improve the accuracy of referrals, thereby reducing delays and over-diagnoses. Patients will benefit from reduced transportation costs to the hospital, while this collaboration will also contribute to reducing the referral rate for the National Health Insurance (BPJS).
Responding to this collaboration, the Director of Purbowangi General Hospital highlighted the importance of continually developing this partnership, despite the challenges faced. With a shared commitment to delivering comprehensive and high-quality healthcare, the collaboration is poised to evolve. Looking ahead, there are plans to involve specialists from various fields, such as Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, and Orthopedics.
Reporting on the screening outcomes, Dr. Karisma shared that out of the 64 patients who underwent eye screenings, 19 were identified as needing further referrals. These cases encompassed mature cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy.
